Top 2 October Upcoming Dramas

Battle of the Bae’s!
Revolutionary Love vs. Black (Korean drama).
As you know, every kdrama fangirl has a bias or two (or two hundred!) and I’m no exception!

October promises not just one but two of my favorite male leads and they, and their individual dramas, couldn’t be more different!

Dark and Light Themes
One is breezy and bright, the other is gritty and dark. Revolutionary Love stars Choi Si Won as a secret heir (named Byun Hyuk) who has to trade his wealthy background for a life of everyday toil.

It’s going to be fun watching him find his way around the worries of paying rent, holding down a part-time job, and simply getting by.

He’s going to get into loads of trouble, fall heedlessly in love, and maybe learn a few life lessons along the way.

And he’ll do all that, while displaying that irrepressibly cheery and even whacky outlook on life we know Siwon plays so well.

Black in contrast is more into stranger things, like the underworld, the supernatural and you know, high-stakes thrills and chills.

In a drama where the Grim Reaper decides to possess the body of a detective, paired with a woman who can predict death, there’s bound to be elements of gloom.

That’s hardly a deterring factor though, considering all the smoldering tension will be provided by none other than the masterful Song Seung Heon who plays Detective Black.

He’ll be teaming up with his clairvoyant leading lady Kang Ha-ram (played by Go-Ara) and together they will go against hell itself to rescue innocent lives.

Broody, moody and all kinds of intense, Black Kdrama will offer just the right foil to withstand all the unbearably cute, fuzzy, upbeat goodness from Revolutionary Love. Sounds like a win-win to me!

Both such compelling dramas to look forward to, the mysterious Black and the comedic Revolutionary Love start Oct. 14!!

So who else can’t wait??

The K2 Finale Review

Guns. Fists. Tears and blood. Heroism, conviction and of course love…

Episode 16 of The K2 gave a smash finish to an awesome drama.

Ji Chang Wook again, plays the perfect lead that takes it all the way up. An action hero worth his weight in muscles, and my what big ones he’s got!

All the better to take down the bad guys, save the girl and win the day.

His only worry as an actor, will be how to yet again top a stellar performance in his next drama. No pressure, Wookie. No pressure.

2016 Kdrama Catchup: July

kim-woo-bin-uncontrollably fond

I feel you, dude. Waiting on those new episodes each week can be such a drag!

Well, okay. I like how my July watch-list is looking. I’m all for quality over quantity, so I’m not trying to juggle too much at once. The more the feel-good factor, the more I’m inclined to tune in week after week. And three main dramas are giving me major good vibes at the moment. And it’s from the most unexpected of angles!

Two big-name dramas, with two outstanding story-lines that keep you guessing, and one swaggering sageuk with a delightfully unconventional heroine. Figured out which three dramas I’m so keen about? Continue reading “2016 Kdrama Catchup: July”
