Now that we’re nearing the end of year 2016 it’s certainly not too much to expect even more ‘zing’ in our k-drama offerings.
Can November manage to bring it even harder than the preceding months have done? Simply put: you betcha!
Legend of the Blue Sea
Lee Min Ho.
Jeon Ji Hyun.
Need I say more?
Airs Nov. 16. Highly anticipated fantasy romance Legend of the Blue Sea stars Hallyu royalty Lee Min Ho (“The Heirs”) and Jun Ji Hyun (“My Love From Another Star”).
Our hero will be crossing time and space as he plays the two-tier role of Dam-lim, son of a magistrate during the Joseon era and Heo Joon Jae a ruthless scam artist in present time who uses his wits and good looks to his advantage.
Meanwhile Jun Ji Hyun plays a mermaid, my word! Named Shim Chung she fell in love with Dam-lim and transformed to human to make it to modern Seoul. Things we do for love, *sigh*.
Entourage
I didn’t watch the original and hopefully it won’t be missed! I’m a Seo Kang Joon fan after Cheese in the Trap and I’m eager to see him bring that enigmatic charisma to this US to Korean remake!
Billed as a “black comedy” it certainly has the right cast for it. Already done with filming the series will portray the behind-the-scenes in Korean entertainment. Now just imagine how much fun that will be!
Airs Nov. 4. Seo Kang Joon is Young-Bin, a South Korean star actor on the rise. We’ll be following his high flying capers with childhood besties Ho-Jin (Park Jung-Min), Joon (Lee Kwang-Soo) and Geobook (Lee Dong-Hwi) – and of course, Kim Eun-Gab (Cho Jin-Woong), CEO of the management company Young-bin belongs to.
They’ll be sure to have a blast…and we will too!
Father I’ll Take Care of You
Family weekend dramas are totally my thing nowadays thanks to the utterly fab Laurel Tree Tailors. So I’m more than hopeful about upcoming series Father I’ll Take Care of You which promises an endearing cast as well as storyline.
An aged couple try to get some personal time now that their four offspring are all independent and have flown the nest.
Ah, but then some kids just never grow up do they? They find it tough to handle the big bad world on their own. So it’s back to the comfort of kith and kin as all four adults surprise their parents and move back home.
Airs Nov. 12. One’s a director, one’s a jack of all trades, one’s a writer…and basically they collectively need to be taught a lesson or two for messing up their parents’ retirement from…parenting!
Fifty episodes? No problem! When a long-running family weekend drama is done just right, viewing it is no pain, all gain.
Soo good! November promises such excitement I can almost taste it already!
The hottest stars on the K-planet offer fantasy, comedy, romance and family values this November. Seriously, I love the way you spoil me, kdramas!
YESS!! Can’t wait for The Legend of the Blue Sea! Fairytales, Lee Min-Ho, and Jeon Ji-Hyun! I’m super pumped. Entourage looks fun though not sure I’ll have the time to check in on it. Also the same with weekend dramas. I can barely keep up with dramas I’m watching right now hehe. Great list! Thanks for the updates!
